Ginger

I always have ginger in my fridge because it can be used for both savory and sweet things. Especially when someone in my house having a cold, it is so nice to make a drink by boiling it with water, then mix it with honey and lime/lemon, to cure the clogged nose and sore throat. Tamarind

There are 2 types of tamarind, sweet tamarind and sour tamarind. We use the sour one for cooking and the sweet one as a snack. When you go to a supermarket, most of the time you will find tamarind paste in a bottle or a jar. If you are lucky, you might find the dried ones.

Sweet Potatoe

In Thailand, we use sweet potato to make dessert. Or just steam or grill in in the openfire and eat it as snack. I inharitaged the love of sweet potato from my mom. And I love to snack on it every chances I got my hands in one.
