My dad likes to order Oliang with his lunch. I usually like to order different drinks for myself. But I always love to have a sip (or a quarter of a glass) of my dad’s Oliang. Never skip my tradition! 😝
What make Oliang difference from a normal Americano or espresso iced-coffee?
First, The aroma is different. Oliang is made from a mix of roasted coffee beans and different type of grains and corns, e.g. rice, soy, corn, sesame, etc.. They also add syrup and butter while roasting to get the sweet caramelized aroma as well.
Second, it is always sweet. It always made with sugar. So if you don’t like it to be too sweet, you should specify that when you order the drink. Otherwise, it will come in original taste, which is sweet or very sweet.😁
Ingredients: (2 -3 glasses)
- 400 g. Oliang powder (ready made or self-roasted)
- 1 liter Water - 500 g. Sugar
Directions:
- First, bring water to boil. Then add Oliang powder and sugar to the boiled water and stire. - Keep it boil for 10 minutes. Take it off the stove, and let it cool down first. Filter the coffee and serve with ice.
